Alex is currently leading a team of 20 communicators responsible for all internal activities associated with AZ’s Group Corporate Affairs.  Currently based at their Corporate headquarters in Mayfair, London, Alex joined AstraZeneca from Unilever, where he was the Global Head of Communications for the Foods Division.  Prior to this Alex has held senior communication roles with a number of pharmaceutical companies including Roche (Global Head, Partnering Communications) and GlaxoSmithKline (R&D Communications and Media/Community Relations).

Alex has a strong track record in leading global communication strategies during times of change. His work has incorporated; reputation and crisis management, product communications, media & community relations and change communications.

Before he was drawn into the communications world, Alex started his career as a Biochemical engineer and a clinical researcher
